Technical Rules for
British Powerlifting
Please Note:
There are a number of rule changes for 2007, please see the link below
and contact Jim Mutrie if you have any questions.
BWLA
Powerlifting has adopted the IPF Rule Book and will be using these rules
at all competitions. This decision favours all the lifters, especially
those who lift internationally.

Before any major competitions I think there is a need to talk to all the
referees and have a discussion about all the things that are likely to
come up during the competition and to put a stop to any of the
contentious decisions that crop up from time to time. During the talk
any technical questions could be answered pertaining to that particular
competition. I think this would help make the competition much less
stressful and smoother for everyone involved. Referee's should not see
this as anything other than a chance to make their job much easier and
not as a comment on their refereeing ability as we have a lot of very
well thought of referees on both the national and international circuit
and should use these talks as a way of making themselves heard. Any
questions regarding these talks can be asked in advance.
