Great Britain Senior Squad

The first GB Senior Squad for the World Powerlifting Championships was held in Birmingham this weekend. The squad is nine weeks from the competition, which takes place in New Delhi, India, from 1st to 7th November. The squad was attended by all 13 members of the GB team, which includes the Club's Ben Banks at 125kg, and a number of additional lifters who are part of the national squad. At this stage in the build up to the competition, all the athletes were doing their normal training session at the squad, as part of their training programme for the World Championships. The final squad will take place three weeks out from the competition on 10th October, where the team will be expected to perform their opening lifts under the scrutiny of the coaches.
