Great Britain Junior Team Selection

Guy Djedje has been selected along with six other lifters to represent Great Britain at the European Junior Powerlifting Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden from 9-13th June. The full team consists of Louise Watton (67.5kg), Steven Tyers (60kg), Owen Hubbard (75kg), Ben Mallinson (82.5kg), Mark Gregory (100kg), Guy Djedje (110kg) and Jordan Gumbley (125+kg), along with Team Coach Ralph Farquharson and Team Manager John Jackson.

The final nominations list has now been published, and there are 141 competitors from 18 countries, with the competition for the podium in some of the weight classes set to be very tight. Both Guy Djedje and Mark Gregory were medallists in the World Junior Powerlifting Championships in South Africa in 2008, so they will both be looking to improve on their performances and fight for medals  again in Sweden.
