National Referee

Following Rebecca's promotion to National referee, Mick Barry, the Technical Officer for the Great Britain Powerlifting Federation, has reviewed Ben Banks' refereeing and promoted him to National status as well. Ben has refereed at four competitions since qualifying as a Divisional Referee in 2007, and has assisted at numerous other competitions as a spotter, loader and platform manager. This promotion allows Ben to referee at National competitions, and also to referee British record attempts at Divisional competitions. Any members interested in becoming referees should let the Committee know, as the Club hopes to organise a course and examination in the near future. As a competitor, becoming a referee can not only give you a better understanding of the rule book, but also allows you to see lifts from the perspective of the referee, to further develop your style and technique.
