Great Britain Junior Powerlifting Squad

This larger squad was held in a more central location in Birmingham, and young athletes from Northern England and Scotland were invited as well many of those that had attended the Southern squad at the Club. This of course included the two lifters from the British Barbell team, Andy Ly and Faisal Ahmed Spaul, and new member to the Club sessions, Daniel Taylor.

All three athletes trained hard among a group of approximately 20 people, all hoping to make the final selection for the World Juniors. All the lifters battle on, despite many being quite unprepared for the sudden beginning of the British summer!

With only a couple of squads left remaining before the World Championships in South Africa, the pool of lifters will begin to narrow as the event approaches. Those athletes who are selected will attend the next squad to be held at the Club on 6th July...
