British Junior Record 2007

Following on from his win at the Greater London Powerlifting Championships, Ben Banks' successful lift of 231kg in the Bench Press has been accepted by the Record's Registrar Ian Hampson on behalf of the National Governing Body. Ben's lift also takes the 'All Contest' record, which includes those lifts performed in Bench Only competitions. The previous record stood at 230kg for over 14 years, and was set by former World Senior Champion, Brian Reynolds.

Ben has two months left as a junior, and will be competing at the Commonwealth Championships in New Zealand on Sunday 9th December, so there is still time for him to push the record higher.
