Great Britain Junior Powerlifting Squads

British Barbell has hosted the first squad  for the Great Britain Junior Powerlifting Team in the build up to the World Junior and Sub Junior Powerlifting Championships 2007. This was a larger squad with a range of U18 and U23 lifters invited. Team Manager, John Halfacre and Team Coach, Paul Rees, oversaw the group of about 15 lifters being considered for the team. Both Ben Banks and Andy Ly have been invited to proceed with the selection for the World Championships. This squad gave the U23 lifters a chance to show that they had worked on their technique and the lessons learnt from European Championships, with the U18 lifters trying to make an impact in the hope of receiving an invite for what would be their first international competition. There will be one further squad in Birmingham, in three weeks time for the final selection for the World Championships, which will also be overseen by the Director of Powerlifting, Arthur Hoey.
